Det Gyldne Blad creates prints and cards with a storytelling vibe for both big and small as well as stitched little collectable dolls, brooches & other handmade objects. With a base in Denmark Det Gyldne Blad is routed in a love for whimsical imagination, the seasons of the year and folksy Scandinavian folk art.

Behind Det Gyldne Blad you find Stephanie Donsø.
Stephanie has a background as a fine artist. Yet, to day her work crosses much the disciplinens of illustration and craft.

"No matter what kind of art I've made I have always had somekind of story in it. My earlier paintings and drawings often seemed to continue a story or scenery and I have always had an interest in the idea of characters and themes. I think this may come from the fact that I grew up with a mother who worked (for twentyfive years) at the local library. I was often with her and surrounded by books and stories. For a long time I forgot about how much this meant to me until I needed to remember. I came up with the idea for an artistic creative brand that should have a name like a sentence from a story - yet a Danish story and should make you think of stories, childhood, memories and little wonders."

Det Gyldne Blad means The or That Golden Leaf and refers to Autumn leafs and a particular childhood memeory that Stephanie has.

Det Gyldne Blad offers greeting cards that makes you want to frame them, prints, paperdolls and other cut-outs plus little handmade objects, mostly handstithed.

From Stephanies home studio she balances between freelance and self-inititated projects while also running this webshop with all that comes with it.
Sometimes you may find Det Gyldne Blad and Stephanie at craft and design markest. Det Gyldne Blad cards and prints is also to be found in several craft and lifestyle shops in Denmark. Stephanie occassonally return to her fine art and participates in group shows.

Stephanie is not a city person and lives in a town North from Copenhagen that is close to woods and lakes along with her husband Thomas, two kids, a cat, two bunnies and some chickens in the garden. Their house is from 1959 and they have been restoring it for years.
